Dr. Hahn's experience as a psychologist and evaluator in correctional and state hospital settings, alongside his hundreds of hours of specialized postdoctoral training in such subjects as competencies, malingering, civil injury and threat/risk assessment, have resulted in the development of considerable forensic expertise; his forensic work is known for its thoroughness, attention to detail, and clarity of recommendations.
Dr. Hahn is appointed as a qualified medical evaluator (QME) with the State of California Division of Industrial Relations, Department of Workers' Compensation and is also a member of the Contra Costa County Superior Court panel of psychological evaluators for criminal cases.
In his civil work, Dr. Hahn routinely performs independent medical examinations of injured workers and has a particular understanding of civil issues involving compensability, disability, psychological damages, and ability to work. Dr. Hahn has also conducted over 800 competency to stand trial evaluations (PC § 1367 et seq.) in various felony and misdemeanor criminal matters and evaluated violence risk and criminal responsibility.
As an expert witness, Dr. Hahn has testified at various depositions and during different criminal trials (e.g., murder, attempted murder, sex crimes, and others) in various California superior and other courts.
